Sugar Beet Competition Winner
Mr Leckenby from Oxclose Farm, Pockley was the lucky competition winner of a 29 tonne bulk load of Supaflow, sugar beet feed from Trident. This competition ran across various national and regional events around the country in 2011 including Argrain's Annual Moisture Meter Clinic. He has over 330 breeding ewes and 150 shearling Lleyn sheep.
To win the 29 tonne bulk load of the sugar beet feed, visitors at the events had to correctly answer what the sugar content of Supaflow is – which is 19%. Trident received an excellent response to the competition with over 750 entries. The winner was then randomly selected. Mr Leckenby, recently collected his prize from his local merchant – Argrain Ltd from Raskelf near York. “I was extremely happy to win this competition; we have used sugar beet feed for our Lleyn sheep for over 15 years.”
Trident is also currently running its Great Trident treasure hunt this year, where a number of Golden Tickets have been randomly hidden in this year’s production of bagged supabeet. The first £50 Golden Ticket has been found, but the remaining tickets including the £500 top prize is yet to be claimed – could you be the next winner?
